The Work centers on the four moments of the year from the title.
These are days when temperatures and colours meet And shift. These moments are expressed in pencil drawings as well as paper sculptures and sound.
The visual interplay of light and shadow as well as shape and colour is reflected in music that stretches fleeting sounds into new exciting textures.
Because the contrasts between the different iterations of the project amplify one another, we enjoy playing with different presentations of this project.
Summer Solstice is the first of Four audio Installments that correspond to the four parts of the visual work. Summer Solstice specifically reflects on the moment of St. John’s, the shift from spring to summer, the longest day of the year. Didgeridoo, Voices and Guitar are stretched out in order to blur the lines between the different Sounds, creating an atmosphere that reminisces summer’s sweltering heat.
